Labasa defender Unaisi Tuberi has been appointed as the captain of the newly formed Digicel Fiji Women’s Futsal team. The 30-year-old from Nadogo brings significant experience to this position, having previously led the Fiji Kulas.
Head coach Jerry Sam commended Tuberi for her leadership abilities, highlighting her extensive knowledge of the game. “You can see Tuberi standing out during training; she has leadership qualities and can quickly organize herself and communicate with the players, which is crucial in futsal,” Sam stated. “We need someone like her to guide the players.”
Tuberi will have the support of former Kulas player and current Rewa Women’s representative Naomi Waqanidrola as her assistant.
