Fiji’s Futsal Coach Calls for Intensity Ahead of New Zealand Clash!

Fiji Women’s Futsal coach Jerry Sam is calling on his team to increase their intensity in preparation for an important match against New Zealand, following a convincing 4-0 victory over Tonga that did not fully satisfy him.

Despite achieving a solid win in their second match of the OFC Women’s Futsal Championship, Sam felt the team’s performance lacked the necessary speed and urgency to compete against stronger rivals.

“We had a bit of a slow start with the mindset that, you know, whoever plays Tonga starts off very slow. This is something we don’t want to happen in the next game, and we have to consider that,” Sam expressed.

His frustration was evident as he encouraged the players to challenge themselves further and create more scoring chances throughout the match. Sam is confident in the team’s abilities and is eager to see them realize their full potential on the court.

The upcoming match against New Zealand, scheduled for 4 pm at the Friendship Hall in the Solomon Islands, raises the stakes for the Fijian team.
