Fiji secured a 1-0 win against the Solomon Islands to take 5th place in the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2024, thanks to a remarkable free-kick by Sisilia Kuladina.

Both teams entered the match after missing out on the semi-finals, leading to a fiercely contested game. The Solomon Islands made a late adjustment to their starting lineup, with Bella Fa’arodo replacing Joyce Siosi.

The first half exhibited limited scoring opportunities, highlighted by Solomon Islands hitting the woodwork from a corner, while Fiji’s goalkeeper Miliana Maramanikabu had to be substituted following a head collision.

In the second half, Solomon Islands came close to scoring, but it was Kuladina who broke the deadlock by successfully converting a free-kick just outside the penalty area. Fiji maintained their lead, while Solomon Islands struggled to find an equalizer.
