Fiji’s Former Fisheries Minister Faces Corruption Charges

Former Fisheries Minister Kalaveti Ravu has entered a not guilty plea in response to corruption-related charges. Ravu appeared in the Magistrates Court in Suva today, facing one count of Abuse of Office. Alongside him, Regional Manager North Tekata Toisi is charged with one count of Aiding and Abetting Abuse of Office. The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption has provided the defense counsel’s second phase disclosures. The case has been adjourned until August 28 for further mention.
