Fiji’s Foreign Affairs Takes a Digital Leap with New Websites!

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched thirteen new websites, including a main site for the Ministry and twelve Mission-specific sites. These platforms have been rebranded to be more interactive and user-friendly, focusing on enhancing the experience for visitors.

During the launch, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua emphasized that this initiative aims to improve service delivery and foster real-time connections between Fiji Missions abroad and their constituents.

Qereqeretabua noted that the redesigned websites reflect the Ministry’s commitment to utilizing digital tools to expand Fiji’s diplomatic presence. The sites will provide up-to-date information on Fiji’s multilateral and bilateral engagements, emphasizing returns on investment and economic growth for the nation.

A standout feature of the new website is the “Fijian Diaspora Registration Portal,” which allows Fijians living outside the country to register with the Ministry. This portal is designed to gather critical data that will guide policy decisions and outreach to the Fijian diaspora, especially during crises and emergencies.

The new website will serve as a comprehensive resource for information on various initiatives, including the development of Fiji’s first Foreign Policy White Paper, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s vision of the Pacific as an “Ocean of Peace,” and Fiji’s Institute of Diplomacy.

Fijians worldwide will also have access to “Citizens Connect and Consular Services,” which includes online services for passport renewals and bookings. The upgraded website features allow citizens to contact their nearest Mission and schedule appointments for assistance.

Additionally, members of the diaspora will be able to track updates and advisories from Fiji Missions. The website not only informs users of the Ministry’s services but also welcomes feedback to improve service delivery.

The launched websites encompass Fiji’s Permanent Missions in New York and Geneva, five High Commissions located in Canberra, Wellington, London, New Delhi, and Port Moresby, as well as five Embassies in Jakarta, Tokyo, Washington D.C., Beijing, and Abu Dhabi.

With a simple click, Fijians can now easily access information and appreciate the efforts of the Ministry and Fiji’s Missions globally. The new websites are available at www.foreignaffairs.gov.fj.
