Fiji’s Foreign Affairs Goes Digital with 13 New Interactive Websites!

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has introduced thirteen new websites to improve its digital presence, including a central site for the Ministry and twelve dedicated to various Missions. These redesigned, interactive websites have been crafted with the user experience as a priority.

During the launch, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua stated that this initiative is aimed at enhancing service delivery and fostering real-time connections between Fiji’s overseas Missions and their clientele. She emphasized that the updated websites reflect the Ministry’s dedication to leveraging digital resources to expand Fiji’s diplomatic influence, providing current information on both multilateral and bilateral engagements to promote economic growth and return on investment for Fiji.

A key addition is the “Fijian Diaspora Registration Portal,” which will allow Fijians living abroad to register with the Ministry. This portal aims to consolidate vital data to guide policy-making, especially in times of crisis when reaching out to the Fijian diaspora is critical.

Qereqeretabua noted that the revamped website will serve as a comprehensive resource for information on the Ministry’s key initiatives, including Fiji’s inaugural Foreign Policy White Paper, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s vision for the Pacific as an “Ocean of Peace,” and the establishment of Fiji’s Institute of Diplomacy.

Fijians worldwide will also benefit from services like ‘Citizens Connect and Consular Services,’ including passport renewals and appointments with Mission staff for assistance and consultations. The new website will enable diaspora members to stay updated on advisories and information from Fiji Missions.

Additionally, the website will allow users to provide feedback, giving them a voice on how the Ministry can improve its services. Websites for Fiji’s Permanent Missions in New York and Geneva, along with five High Commissions and five Embassies across various countries, have all been relaunched. These sites will allow Fijians to easily access and appreciate the work carried out by the Ministry and its Missions abroad.

The new websites can be found at www.foreignaffairs.gov.fj.
