Fiji’s Foreign Affairs Goes Digital: Explore the New Mission Websites!

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has unveiled thirteen new websites, which include a central website for the Ministry and twelve individual Mission websites. These websites have been rebranded to be user-friendly, interactive, and informative.

During the launch, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua stated that this initiative aims to enhance service delivery and facilitate real-time connections between Fijian Missions overseas and their clients.

Qereqeretabua emphasized that the redesigned website reflects the Ministry’s dedication to leveraging digital tools to expand Fiji’s diplomatic engagement, providing up-to-date information on both multilateral and bilateral interactions, with a focus on fostering economic growth.

A key feature of the new website is the introduction of the “Fijian Diaspora Registration Portal,” which allows Fijians living abroad to register with the Ministry. This portal will help the Ministry gather significant data that will inform essential policy decisions, especially in reaching out to the Fijian diaspora during crises and emergencies.

The new site will serve as a comprehensive resource for information on the Ministry’s initiatives, including the creation of Fiji’s Foreign Policy White Paper, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s concept of the Pacific as an Ocean of Peace, and developments at Fiji’s Institute of Diplomacy.

Fijians worldwide can now access “Citizens Connect and Consular Services,” which includes options for passport renewals and bookings. The enhanced website features also allow Fijians to contact their nearest Mission and make appointments for assistance.

Additionally, members of the diaspora will now have the ability to track updates and advisories from Fijian Missions through the revamped website. The Ministry will also gather feedback from users to improve its services.

The newly launched websites encompass Fiji’s two Permanent Missions in New York and Geneva, five High Commissions located in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, India, and Papua New Guinea, and five Embassies in Indonesia, Japan, the United States, China, and the United Arab Emirates.

Fijians can easily access and explore the work of the Ministry and Fiji’s Missions around the globe via the domain www.foreignaffairs.gov.fj.
