The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially launched thirteen new websites, including one primary site for the Ministry and twelve for its overseas Missions. These websites have been completely rebranded and are designed to be interactive and informative, with a strong focus on user experience.

During the launch, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua stated that this initiative aims to enhance service delivery and create a real-time link between Fiji’s Missions around the world and their clients. She emphasized that the updated websites demonstrate the Ministry’s dedication to leveraging digital tools to expand Fiji’s diplomatic presence by providing timely information on multilateral and bilateral engagements, which promote economic development and a return on investment for the nation.

A notable feature of the revamped website is the introduction of the “Fijian Diaspora Registration Portal,” allowing Fijians living abroad to register with the Ministry. This portal aims to gather critical data that will support policy decisions, especially during crises affecting the diaspora.

Qereqeretabua mentioned that the new website serves as a comprehensive resource for information on key initiatives undertaken by the Ministry, including the development of Fiji’s first Foreign Policy White Paper and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s vision of the Pacific as an “Ocean of Peace.”

Fijians globally can now access “Citizens Connect and Consular Services,” facilitating processes like passport renewals and appointments with Mission staff for assistance. The revamped website also allows diaspora members to stay updated with news and advisories from the Fiji Missions.

Additionally, the Ministry will be equipped to gather feedback from service users, enabling citizens to share their opinions on how services can be improved.

The newly launched Fiji Missions websites include those for Fiji’s Permanent Missions in New York and Geneva, five High Commissions in Canberra, Wellington, London, New Delhi, and Port Moresby, as well as five Embassies in Jakarta, Tokyo, Washington D.C., Beijing, and Abu Dhabi.

With just a click, Fijians can access information about the Ministry’s work and the efforts of its Missions abroad. The new websites are accessible at www.foreignaffairs.gov.fj.
