The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched thirteen websites simultaneously, including a main site for the Ministry and twelve dedicated Mission websites, as part of efforts to enhance its digital platforms. These rebranded websites are aimed at being highly interactive and informative, designed with the user experience in mind.

During the launch, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua highlighted that this initiative seeks to improve service delivery and establish real-time connections between Fiji’s overseas Missions and their clients. Qereqeretabua noted that the updated websites reflect the Ministry’s commitment to leveraging digital tools to bolster Fiji’s diplomatic reach by providing timely information regarding its international engagements, with a focus on promoting economic development and maximizing returns on investment.

A key feature of the new website is the “Fijian Diaspora Registration Portal,” which allows Fijians living abroad to register with the Ministry. This portal will facilitate the consolidation of essential data that can inform policy decisions and strategies, particularly when reaching out to the Fijian diaspora in times of crisis.

The revamped website serves as a central hub for information about significant initiatives from the Ministry, including the development of Fiji’s inaugural Foreign Policy White Paper, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s vision of the Pacific as an “Ocean of Peace,” and the establishment of Fiji’s Institute of Diplomacy.

Fijians worldwide will now have access to ‘Citizens Connect and Consular Services,’ enabling them to apply for passport renewals and schedule appointments with Mission staff for assistance or consultations. The upgraded features will also allow the diaspora to track updates and advisories from Fiji’s Missions.

Importantly, the new websites will enable the Ministry not only to communicate its services but also to collect feedback from its users, giving them a platform to express their views on enhancing the Ministry’s services.

Fiji’s Permanent Missions in New York and Geneva, along with five High Commissions in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, India, and Papua New Guinea, as well as five Embassies in Indonesia, Japan, the United States, China, and the UAE, all have new websites. This development allows Fijians to easily access and understand the work of the Ministry and its overseas Missions.

The new websites can be accessed at www.foreignaffairs.gov.fj.
