Fiji’s Football Future: Rising Stars Join National Team for 2024 Friendlies

The Digicel Fiji Men’s National football team is gearing up for the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024, with their training camp currently in progress at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

Among the 26 players selected for the squad are Fiji U-19 captain Penisoni Tirau and defender Mohammad Aymaan, who impressed during the OFC U-19 Men’s Championships earlier this year.

Team manager Kartik Reddy has confirmed that 24 players are in camp, with two additional players expected to join shortly. Australian-based goalkeeper Jerome Narayan is already present, while New Zealand-based Samuela Kautoga will arrive on Sunday, followed by team captain Roy Krishna on September 3.

The final squad of 23 players will be unveiled on August 30 before the team travels to Suva. Under the guidance of head coach Rob Sherman, the team will compete against the Solomon Islands National team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, and later face the Hong Kong, China National team on September 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The 26-member squad includes: Isikeli Sevanaia, Jerome Narayan, Akuila Mateisuva, Samuela Kautoga, Patrick Joesph, Sterling Vasconcellos, Atonio Tuivuna, Mosese Nabose, Filipe Baravilala, Ivan Kumar, Muni Shivam Naidu, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Thomas Dunn, Mohammed Raheem, Setareki Hughes, Aporosa Yasa, Nabil Begg, James Hoyt, Tevita Waranaivalu, Dave Radrigai, Sairusi Nalaubu, Etonia Dogalau, Roy Krishna, Mohammed Aymaan, Rahul Krishna, and Melvin Mani.
