Fiji’s Football Future: Rising Stars Join National Team Ahead of International Friendlies

The Digicel Fiji Men’s National football team is currently in training at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba as they prepare for the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024.

Among the 26-member squad are young talents Penisoni Tirau, the captain of the U-19 team, and defender Mohammad Aymaan, who have both impressed during the OFC U-19 Men’s Championships earlier this year.

Team manager Kartik Reddy has announced that 24 players are currently in camp, with two additional players set to join shortly. Goalkeeper Jerome Narayan, based in Australia, is already part of the team, while Samuela Kautoga, who plays in New Zealand, will arrive on Sunday, followed by team captain Roy Krishna on September 3.

The final 23-member squad will be announced on August 30 before the team travels to Suva. Head coach Rob Sherman will lead the team as they take on the Solomon Islands National team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, and the Hong Kong, China National team on September 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The 26-member squad includes: Isikeli Sevanaia, Jerome Narayan, Akuila Mateisuva, Samuela Kautoga, Patrick Joesph, Sterling Vasconcellos, Atonio Tuivuna, Mosese Nabose, Filipe Baravilala, Ivan Kumar, Muni Shivam Naidu, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Thomas Dunn, Mohammed Raheem, Setareki Hughes, Aporosa Yasa, Nabil Begg, James Hoyt, Tevita Waranaivalu, Dave Radrigai, Sairusi Nalaubu, Etonia Dogalau, Roy Krishna, Mohammed Aymaan, Rahul Krishna, and Melvin Mani.
