Fiji’s Football Future: New Talents Join National Team Camp!

The Digicel Fiji Men’s National football team is gearing up for the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024, with training in progress at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

Fresh talents, including Fiji U-19 captain Penisoni Tirau and defender Mohammad Aymaan, have been incorporated into the 26-member squad following their impressive performance at the OFC U-19 Men’s Championships earlier this year.

Team manager Kartik Reddy has reported that 24 players are currently in camp, with two more set to join shortly. Australian-based goalkeeper Jerome Narayan is already present, and New Zealand-based Samuela Kautoga is scheduled to arrive on Sunday, followed by captain Roy Krishna on September 3.

The final squad of 23 players will be revealed on August 30 before the team travels to Suva. Under the guidance of head coach Rob Sherman, Fiji will compete against the Solomon Islands National team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, and the Hong Kong, China National team on September 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The 26-member squad includes: Isikeli Sevanaia, Jerome Narayan, Akuila Mateisuva, Samuela Kautoga, Patrick Joseph, Sterling Vasconcellos, Atonio Tuivuna, Mosese Nabose, Filipe Baravilala, Ivan Kumar, Muni Shivam Naidu, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Thomas Dunn, Mohammed Raheem, Setareki Hughes, Aporosa Yasa, Nabil Begg, James Hoyt, Tevita Waranaivalu, Dave Radrigai, Sairusi Nalaubu, Etonia Dogalau, Roy Krishna, Mohammed Aymaan, Rahul Krishna, and Melvin Mani.
