Fiji’s Football Future: New Talent Emerges for International Challenge

The Digicel Fiji Men’s National football team is gearing up for the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024, with their training camp currently underway at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

Among the squad of 26 players are Fiji U-19 captain Penisoni Tirau and defender Mohammad Aymaan, who were recognized as promising talents during the OFC U-19 Men’s Championships held earlier this year.

Team manager Kartik Reddy has confirmed that 24 players are presently in the camp, with two additional players scheduled to arrive soon. Australian goalkeeper Jerome Narayan is already part of the squad, while New Zealand-based Samuela Kautoga is set to join on Sunday, followed by team captain Roy Krishna on September 3.

The final 23-man squad will be revealed on August 30, prior to their travel to Suva. Under the guidance of head coach Rob Sherman, the team will compete against the Solomon Islands National team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, and face Hong Kong, China National team on September 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The 26-member squad includes Isikeli Sevanaia, Jerome Narayan, Akuila Mateisuva, Samuela Kautoga, Patrick Joesph, Sterling Vasconcellos, Atonio Tuivuna, Mosese Nabose, Filipe Baravilala, Ivan Kumar, Muni Shivam Naidu, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Thomas Dunn, Mohammed Raheem, Setareki Hughes, Aporosa Yasa, Nabil Begg, James Hoyt, Tevita Waranaivalu, Dave Radrigai, Sairusi Nalaubu, Etonia Dogalau, Roy Krishna, Mohammed Aymaan, Rahul Krishna, and Melvin Mani.
