Among these actions, a major retail shop in Rakiraki Town received a closure order due to recurring compliance problems. Taina Rauvala, head of the Food Unit, highlighted alarming deficiencies uncovered during inspections, such as meat exhibiting freezer burn and foul odors, freezers malfunctioning outside required temperature ranges, and the presence of pests like cockroaches and weevils in storage areas.
