Fiji’s Ponipate Loganimasi, a Silver Medalist in rugby sevens, has been selected for the final 23-member Flying Fijians squad for the Pacific Nations Cup finale against Japan.
The team will be captained by Tevita Ikanivere, who plays hooker, with Eroni Mawi and Samuela Tawake occupying the loosehead and tighthead prop positions, respectively. The lock pairing of Isoa Nasilasila and Temo Mayanavanua strengthens the scrum, while flankers Ratu Meli Derenalagi and Kitione Salawa contribute both speed and power.
In the backline, Frank Lomani and Caleb Muntz will handle the halfback and flyhalf roles, while wingers Ilaisa Droasese and Vuate Karawalevu are set to exploit any space on the field. The center positions will see Inia Tabuavou and Iosefo Masi partnering effectively.
Elia Canakaivata will serve as the number eight forward. Isaiah Armstrong Ravula will take the fullback position, tasked with generating attacking plays.
Joining Loganimasi on the bench are Mesulame Dolokoto, Hereti Hetet, Meli Tuni, Mesake Vocevoce, Albert Tuisue, Peni Matawalu, and Apisalome Vota.
