The head coach of the Fiji Water Flying Fijians, Mick Byrne, has announced a formidable 23-player lineup for their upcoming Test match against Wales, scheduled for early Monday morning (Fiji time).
In a Zoom conference earlier today, Byrne expressed confidence in his team’s preparation for the game. “We are pleased to welcome back our senior players as it serves as a great boost for our next match,” he stated. According to Byrne, the team’s experience from the previous contest against Scotland has been valuable as they shift their focus to the Welsh challenge.
The selected squad features a dynamic backline that includes notable players such as Semi Radradra, Josua Tuisova, Waisea Nayacalevu, and Jiuta Wainiqolo. Byrne highlighted the youthful energy of first-five Caleb Muntz, believing it could pose a significant threat to their opponents.
“There is a lot of positive energy within the team. They are excited for the game, and we anticipate it will be a thrilling matchup,” he said, hinting at the team’s readiness to face a Welsh side eager to break their winless streak.
The match is set to kick off at 1:40 a.m. and will be broadcast live on Sky Pacific.
