Fiji’s Flying Fijians: Powering Up with Spiritual Strength

Temo Mayanavanua, a second-rower for the Fiji Water Flying Fijians, believes the team’s true strength lies in their spiritual connection, rather than solely in physical training.

“I personally find that spiritual visits are of utmost importance. In Fiji, there are three pillars that define a Fijian: the connection to the Vanua, family, and faith,” Mayanavanua stated.

As the team gears up for their Pacific Nations Cup opener against Samoa, he highlighted that spirituality serves as a vital guiding force rather than a mere routine.

“A key message that resonated with me is our core value: our relationship with God, which we uphold both on and off the field,” he added.

The Flying Fijians will face Manu Samoa this Friday at 6 PM.
