The FIJI Water Flying Fijians have ended a 17-year wait for victory against Wales, triumphing 24-19 in their second Test of the Northern Tour at Principality Stadium. Despite facing tough circumstances, including a red card and being reduced to 13 players, the Fijians displayed remarkable defense and composure to achieve their historic first win in Cardiff.

The match saw the Flying Fijians trailing 14-10 at halftime, having conceded two tries, with the Welsh team gaining an advantage through a penalty try and a touchdown from winger Blair Murray, successfully converted by flyhalf Gareth Anscombe. Fiji’s Caleb Muntz kept his side within reach by scoring a try and adding a conversion and a penalty before the break.

In the second half, Fiji regained momentum and showcased an impressive turnaround. Muntz took charge with back-to-back penalties early in the half, and Josua Tuisova extended their lead with a try at the 60-minute mark, although the conversion was missed. Wales managed to score again through a try by Ellis Bevan, but the conversion attempt failed, and Fiji’s defense held strong, preventing further Welsh advances.

Muntz added another penalty in the 75th minute to secure the victory for Fiji. With this loss, Wales faces an unfortunate streak of ten consecutive Test defeats.
