Fiji’s First Open Heart Surgery: A New Hope for the Underprivileged

Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH), Fiji’s sole locally owned private hospital, is prepared to conduct its inaugural open heart surgery, as announced by the hospital’s Director and CEO, Parvish Kumar.

Mr. Kumar has extended an offer of assistance to underprivileged individuals who may struggle to afford this significant procedure, inviting them to reach out via email at p.kumar@psh.com.fj.

To qualify for either a fully subsidized surgery or a significantly discounted rate, patients must meet specific criteria, including certain cardiac health requirements. Additionally, prospective patients are advised to have their angiograms and other necessary medical assessments completed prior to contacting the service.

Mr. Kumar emphasized the need for individuals seeking the procedure to forward their angiogram reports and all relevant medical documentation via email for evaluation. He also noted that patients interested in angiogram services should get in touch with the hospital.

PSH’s operating theatre is equipped with cutting-edge technology and has received high praise from visiting cardiologists from India, highlighting its world-class standards. Costs for open heart surgeries at PSH are competitive when compared to those in India and other regions.

The PSH Nadi branch is conveniently situated on Queen’s Highway opposite Nadi International Airport, while the Suva branch can be found at 107 Foster Road, Walu Bay. Cardiac services are available exclusively at the Nadi location. Furthermore, advanced medical services including neurosurgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, and orthopedics are offered at both the Suva and Nadi branches.

PSH prides itself on providing access to top-tier medical care alongside the latest medical equipment, ensuring favorable surgical outcomes and swift recovery periods. Mr. Kumar stated, “At PSH, we value your health and well-being and prioritize prompt treatment to expedite your journey to full recovery.”
