Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH), Fiji’s only locally owned private hospital, is set to conduct its first open heart surgery. This announcement was made by Parvish Kumar, the hospital’s Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Kumar has extended a helping hand to underprivileged individuals who cannot afford the surgery, inviting them to reach out via email at p.kumar@psh.com.fj. To qualify for either a fully free procedure or a significantly subsidized rate, patients must meet specific criteria, including certain cardiac health requirements.
Patients interested in undergoing the surgery must have their angiograms and all other necessary medical evaluations completed before contacting the hospital. Kumar emphasized that they can obtain their angiograms at any facility but must send the results to him for evaluation, including any prior medical reports.
He also mentioned that individuals seeking angiogram services can get in touch with PSH directly. Kumar stated that he would coordinate personalized plans for patients in need of cardiology services in collaboration with his cardiac team.
PSH boasts a state-of-the-art operating theater that has received praise from visiting cardiologists from India, who described it as world-class. The cost of open heart procedures at PSH is competitive with rates in India and other countries.
The Nadi branch of PSH is conveniently located on the Queen’s Highway, directly across from Nadi International Airport, while the Suva branch can be found at 107 Foster Road in Walu Bay. However, cardiac services are exclusively offered at the Nadi branch.
