Fiji’s FCCC Welcomes New Leadership Amid Promising Changes

Fiji’s FCCC Welcomes New Acting CEO Amid Leadership Transition

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) has appointed Pranil Singh as the Acting Chief Executive Officer, following the departure of Joel Abraham from the position. Singh previously held the role of General Manager of Regulations at the FCCC, contributing significantly to the organization’s efforts in consumer protection and market oversight.

Cecil Browne, the Chair of the FCCC Board, expressed appreciation for Abraham’s leadership, noting his pivotal role in enhancing the commission’s effectiveness in safeguarding consumer interests and regulating markets. “We sincerely thank Mr. Joel Abraham for his dedicated leadership,” Browne remarked, highlighting the transformative impact of Abraham’s tenure in fostering a competitive and fair business landscape in Fiji.

As Singh takes on the acting CEO responsibilities, he will continue until the board selects a permanent successor. The FCCC remains resolute in its mission to advocate for consumer rights and maintain a well-regulated market. This leadership transition represents a chance for the FCCC to further develop and respond to the evolving regulatory environment in Fiji, bringing in fresh ideas and strategies while continuing to build on the robust groundwork established by Abraham. The commission’s strong commitment to consumer protection offers a hopeful perspective for both consumers and the business sector in the country.
