Fiji’s Exports Face New Tariff Challenges: What Lies Ahead?

Fiji’s export dynamics to the United States saw a trade surplus of $14.05 million last year, with the country exporting $439.08 million worth of goods while importing $425.03 million. Kamikamica addressed the implications of newly imposed tariffs by the U.S. government, emphasizing that some Fijian businesses, including those dealing in fresh turmeric, kava, ginger, and skincare products, depend entirely on the U.S. market for their exports. He highlighted that around 70% of Fiji’s top exporters generate 60% of their revenue from the U.S.
