South Sea Cruises Group is excited to announce the launch of its new service, South Sea Cats, which will provide Fiji’s latest resort transfer options along with two half-day ultimate snorkeling adventures. The service will feature two custom-built fast catamarans, crafted in New Zealand and manufactured in Fiji, designed to improve island travel by offering enhanced resort transfer services and new sightseeing excursions.
Set to begin operations early next year, these 14.9-meter vessels can accommodate up to 40 passengers and are capable of cruising at speeds of 22 knots. The South Sea Cats will offer morning transfers to Tokoriki and Matamanoa islands, as well as evening transfers to resorts on Malolo Island and Castaway Islands. An exciting highlight will be the inclusion of Fiji’s first inflatable slide on a commercial vessel, adding a fun element to the journey.
Sales executive Sanjeshni Nand emphasized the importance of facilitating access to the communities across the Yasawas and Mamanucas, stating that the initiative aims to provide better transport options for local residents. She also highlighted that shorter trips will offer passengers a memorable snorkeling experience, allowing for a day out on a smaller vessel.
Pricing for the service is approximately $200 per person, with morning trips priced around $159. Passengers will enjoy inclusive meals with a buffet and bites suitable for families while they explore various snorkeling spots within a three to three and a half-hour timeframe.
Nand noted that corporate groups have begun expressing interest in the new offerings, with the option to tailor itineraries for exclusive experiences. The company offers a 20% discount for locals year-round, encouraging families and groups to take advantage of these services.
Group General Manager for Fiji and Asia Sales, Loretta St Julian-Ooms, mentioned that the departing point is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Nadi International Airport, enhancing accessibility for both tourists and locals.
Overall, the introduction of South Sea Cats not only improves travel to Fiji’s beautiful islands but also strengthens community ties by providing essential services to local residents. The combination of fun adventures and convenient transfers promises to enhance the travel experience in Fiji, making it a destination of choice for both tourists and locals alike.
In summary, the South Sea Cats initiative stands to significantly enrich Fiji’s tourism offerings while contributing positively to local communities, fostering a deeper connection to the beautiful islands and their vibrant marine life.
