Nakorotubu Secondary School celebrated the opening of a new 1×2 classroom block today, inaugurated by Education Minister Aseri Radrodro. This $49,000 project, funded by the Ministry of Education, aims to address the growing student enrollment, which rose from 71 students in 2024 to 107 in 2025. The new facility is designed to alleviate overcrowding and enhance the learning environment for both students and teachers.

During the ceremony, Minister Radrodro praised the commitment of the school’s staff and the local village community, thanking everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition. He highlighted the importance of parental involvement in education and recognized the dedication of teachers in rural areas.

“This is not just a building; it’s an investment in our children’s future. Your commitment to education is building a stronger Fiji,” he stated. This development aligns with the Coalition Government’s ongoing initiatives to improve educational infrastructure across the nation.

This recent addition to Nakorotubu Secondary School complements other educational enhancements across Fiji, including similar projects at institutions like Vatukaloko Secondary School and Navuakece District School. The government’s dedication to fostering learning environments that support the academic and personal development of students illustrates a positive shift in educational investment.

As communities rally together to support educational advancements, the prospects for young learners across Fiji continue to brighten, fostering hope for a more prosperous future.
