Teachers in Fiji have expressed their concerns to Education Minister Aseri Radrodro regarding the need for exam standardization, the integration of digital tools in education, and appropriate salary recognition. These concerns are currently under review by the Ministry of Education.

During his recent visit to Nasinu Muslim College, where he was the Chief Guest, Radrodro commended the hard work and dedication of teachers, recognizing their crucial role in shaping the future of the nation. He characterized the teaching profession as a calling and emphasized its lasting legacy.

In his address, Radrodro outlined key government initiatives aimed at enhancing educational standards. These include reviewing the Education Act, developing teacher support programs, investing in school infrastructure, and promoting technology-driven teaching methods.

To bolster vocational education, he also handed over several industrial sewing machines and equipment to the school’s Home Economics and Vocational classes, highlighting the commitment to providing practical learning opportunities for students.

This visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Fiji’s educational framework through direct engagement and targeted support. Radrodro’s proactive approach aligns with previous initiatives to foster collaboration among educators, examining areas such as academic performance and innovative teaching practices.

As demonstrated in earlier engagements, Radrodro remains focused on overcoming systemic challenges within the education sector, reaffirming that collective efforts will lead to transformative change. With a shared commitment from teachers, the Ministry, and the community, there is ample reason to feel optimistic about the future of education in Fiji. It reflects a united dedication to fostering not only academic excellence but also enriching the overall educational experience for all students.
