Boosting Education: Ratu Kadavulevu School Welcomes New Computers

Fiji’s Education Revolution: New Tech Boosts Student Potential

Students at Ratu Kadavulevu School have recently benefited from an important upgrade in their educational tools, thanks to a donation of new desktop computers valued at over $36,000. The handover ceremony featured comments from Sakiusa Tubuna, the Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister. He noted that these computers will significantly improve the learning experience for students, particularly in computer classes, while also contributing to their broader academic advancement.

Tubuna stressed the need for students to set clear academic goals early on, encouraging them to start planning their educational trajectories by Year 9, rather than waiting until later in their academic careers. His emphasis on a proactive educational approach encourages students to maximally utilize the available resources to enhance their learning outcomes.

This donation is part of a larger trend in Fiji, with recent government efforts aimed at bolstering educational infrastructure. For example, just weeks prior, students at Vatukaloko Secondary School were able to enjoy a newly opened facility, backed by a $49,000 investment intended to improve their learning environment. These initiatives demonstrate a commitment to fostering a supportive atmosphere for students and reflect a broader strategy to invest in the education sector in Fiji.

As the government continues to make significant investments in education, there is a growing sense of optimism that students will be better poised to achieve success and capitalize on their opportunities. The improvement of educational facilities, like the introduction of these computers at Ratu Kadavulevu School, not only supports academic growth but also serves to motivate students in their educational endeavors.
