Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lautoka Seventh Day Adventist High School today, marking a promising advancement in Fiji’s education landscape. The new high school is slated to welcome its first students in 2026, enhancing educational opportunities for children in the region.

During his address, Prime Minister Rabuka emphasized the significance of this project, stating, “Today, we’re here to celebrate progress.” He expressed gratitude to the Seventh Day Adventist Church for its vital role in contributing to Fiji’s education sector. The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of religious institutions, which manage approximately 95% of schools in the nation.

Rabuka also reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fostering partnerships with religious organizations and other stakeholders to further enhance the educational framework in Fiji. He encouraged all involved parties to collaborate in making the school a reality: “Let us collectively come together to make this project a reality.”

In addition to the new high school, the Seventh Day Adventist Church currently operates three high schools and 12 primary schools throughout Fiji, showcasing its commitment to education in the nation.

This initiative not only signifies a step forward in providing quality education but also strengthens community ties and collaboration within the sector.
