Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lautoka Seventh Day Adventist High School today, representing a significant advancement for Fiji’s educational landscape. Set to commence operations in 2026, this new institution aims to provide enhanced access to education for local children.

In his address during the ceremony, Rabuka expressed his enthusiasm for the project’s progress, highlighting the vital role of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in supporting Fiji’s education sector. “Today, we’re here to celebrate progress. On behalf of the Government, I convey my gratitude to the SDA Church for its contribution towards the education sector in Fiji,” he stated.

Rabuka acknowledged that religious institutions have been pivotal in the education system, managing and building 95% of schools across the country. He emphasized the government’s dedication to fostering strong collaborations with these organizations and other stakeholders to further advance education in Fiji.

“I urge all parties concerned to unite in this project. Let us collectively come together to make this project a reality,” he concluded, stressing the importance of teamwork in the initiative.

The SDA Church has been actively involved in education within Fiji, currently operating three high schools and twelve primary schools, showcasing its ongoing commitment to the community.

This new school is not only a boost for local education but also reflects a broader commitment to enhancing educational access for children, cultivating a brighter future for the region.
