Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lautoka Seventh Day Adventist High School today, marking a pivotal moment for the advancement of education in Fiji. The school is set to welcome its first students in 2026, aiming to provide enhanced educational opportunities for children in the region.

During the ceremony, Rabuka celebrated the significance of this project and expressed his gratitude towards the Seventh Day Adventist Church for its contributions to Fiji’s education system. He emphasized the vital role religious institutions play, noting that they are responsible for the construction and management of 95% of the schools across the nation.

The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering collaborations with religious organizations and other stakeholders to elevate the education sector. He encouraged all involved parties to unite in making this project a reality, highlighting the importance of collective effort for the benefit of the community.

In addition to this new high school, the SDA Church currently operates three high schools and twelve primary schools in Fiji, showcasing its ongoing dedication to improving educational access.
