Fiji’s Education Milestone: Groundbroken for New SDA High School

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka today presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lautoka Seventh Day Adventist High School, a pivotal initiative aimed at enhancing Fiji’s education system. The new high school is slated to welcome its first students in 2026, significantly increasing educational opportunities for local children.

In his remarks, Rabuka emphasized the importance of this project, stating, “Today, we’re here to celebrate progress.” He expressed gratitude to the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church for its vital role in contributing to Fiji’s educational landscape. The Prime Minister also highlighted the essential contribution of religious institutions, noting that they manage 95% of the schools in the nation.

Rabuka reiterated the Government’s dedication to fostering collaborations with religious organizations and other stakeholders to advance education. He called for unity among all parties involved, urging them to work together to bring this project to fruition.

In addition to this new high school, the SDA Church already runs three high schools and twelve primary schools throughout Fiji, further demonstrating its commitment to education in the region.
