Fiji’s Education Future: Are Head Teachers Ready to Innovate?

The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been urged to develop practical solutions aimed at enhancing children’s education in Fiji. The call to action was made by Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro during the opening of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau.

Radrodro emphasized the importance of creating an environment that inspires children and nurtures innovative thinking, encouraging them to become solution-oriented leaders for the future. He stated that the association has a critical role in bridging the gap between tradition and innovation and urged educators to empower their students to think independently.

He highlighted the importance of teamwork for fostering social cohesion but pointed out that molding the character of children to have purpose, vision, and direction is essential for achieving this goal. School leaders were encouraged to extend their roles beyond the classroom, actively engaging with students and their families.

“Be a transformative leader. The government has invested in you to take the lead in your schools, and it is vital to create an educational environment where every student can thrive, every teacher can excel, and every community can flourish,” Radrodro stated.
