Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced that the Cabinet has approved the review of the Education Act of 1966. He stated that this Act has been fundamental in regulating education in Fiji, and a thorough review is necessary at this time.
The objectives of the review include ensuring the Act reflects the current educational environment, addressing the changing requirements of students, teachers, parents, and the community, and identifying any educational issues or gaps that have arisen since its last update.
Rabuka emphasized that this comprehensive review will involve a nationwide consultation process.
