“Fiji’s Economic Dilemma: Who Really Benefits?”

Opposition MP Premila Kumar has voiced strong criticism of the Government’s economic policies, arguing that they primarily benefit a select few rather than the average Fijian citizen. She called for concrete actions, such as reducing VAT on essential goods, bolstering support for small businesses, and creating meaningful job opportunities in Fiji.

In her view, genuine success should be measured not by economic data alone but by the quality of life and dignity experienced by the people. She lamented the growing struggles and rising poverty rates, highlighting an urgent need for change.
