France Catarogo, a striker from Tailevu Naitasiri, netted three goals as Fiji dominated Papua New Guinea with a 4-0 victory, securing third place at the OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup held in Honiara.

The two teams had previously met in an exciting tournament opener, which Papua New Guinea won 8-2 in their first international Beach Soccer match. At that time, Fiji was without their captain Tevita Waranaivalu and first-choice player Madhwan Gounder due to late arrivals.

Fiji’s scoring began with Northland Tailevu’s Steven Dean finding the net in the 8th minute, followed by Catarogo who scored two goals in the 16th, along with a third goal in the 22nd minute, and capped off his performance with a fourth goal in the 34th minute.
