This statement came in response to media members who employed racial stereotypes regarding images of two New Zealanders part of the Prime Minister’s security detail.

Fiji’s High Commission in New Zealand clarified that the two individuals were part of a larger team representing a diverse group of New Zealand society. They commended the security team’s professionalism, transparency, and meticulousness.

The High Commission emphasized that all members of the New Zealand’s security detail for the Prime Minister were provided by the New Zealand Government. They noted that the Prime Minister’s visit was completed smoothly, despite some changes in the schedule.
