Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica announced that the government is in the final stages of developing Fiji’s National Digital Strategy. During the Fiji Tech Summit held in Nadi, Mr. Kamikamica explained that this strategy represents a comprehensive five-year plan for shaping the nation’s digital future, with plans to officially launch it by the end of the year.
He emphasized the importance of transitioning Fiji into a digitally empowered economy, highlighting that technology will be a key factor driving economic growth and development. However, the approach must be sustainable and strategic.
The National Digital Strategy aims to establish a coordinated approach to enhancing digital infrastructure and cyber resilience, promoting digital inclusion and empowerment, fostering innovation-driven economic growth, advancing smart governance and digital public services, supporting sustainable development, and enhancing global digital cooperation.
