Team Fiji swimmer David Young has achieved a new personal best at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Young clinched victory in his Men’s 50m freestyle heat with a time of 22.71 seconds.
His previous record was 22.87 seconds, set at the 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Japan.

Coach Willie Elaisa praised Young’s achievement, noting that competing against world-class swimmers and finishing first in his heat has been the highlight of their journey.

Young finished 40th out of 73 swimmers after winning heat 5.
