Fiji’s Cricket Struggles Continue in T20 World Cup!

The Fiji men’s cricket team suffered their third defeat in the International Cricket Council Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional A Pacific tournament, losing to the host nation Samoa by 73 runs.

Although the top-order batters showed promise, the middle and lower order struggled against the strong spin bowling from the Samoan team. Captain Peni Vuniwaqa contributed significantly with 39 runs off 22 balls, while Apete Sokovagona added 23 runs off 10 balls.

Fiji’s only victory in the tournament so far was a substantial 104-run win against the Cook Islands. Young bowler Joeli Moala, only 17, shone with an outstanding performance in that match.

Fiji will take on Vanuatu in their next encounter today at 8:30 AM.
