Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka engaged in bilateral discussions with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres prior to the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Meeting in Nuku’alofa, Tonga, yesterday.
Rabuka emphasized that their talks reaffirmed Fiji’s steadfast dedication to the fundamental principles of the UN Charter since joining the organization in 1970. He stated that Fiji is committed to the belief that multilateralism serves as a collective strength in addressing global issues.
“Our ongoing participation on the global stage reflects our resilience and the meaningful role we play in fostering a better world,” he remarked.
Additionally, Rabuka attended a service with other Pacific Island Leaders at the Centenary Church, where they sought guidance and unity to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for their region.
