Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka engaged in bilateral discussions with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres prior to the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Meeting in Nuku’alofa, Tonga. Rabuka emphasized Fiji’s strong dedication to the core values of the UN Charter since the country became a member in 1970. He highlighted Fiji’s firm belief that multilateralism serves as a collective strength in tackling global issues. “Our ongoing participation on the international stage demonstrates our resilience and the valuable contributions we make toward creating a better world,” he stated. Additionally, Rabuka joined fellow Pacific Island leaders at the Centenary Church for a service, where they sought guidance and unity as they face the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the region.
