Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka engaged in bilateral discussions with UN Secretary-General António Guterres prior to the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Meeting in Nuku’alofa, Tonga. During their talks, Rabuka emphasized Fiji’s steadfast dedication to the principles of the UN Charter since the nation became a member in 1970. He expressed Fiji’s strong belief in multilateralism as a crucial strength in tackling global issues. “Our ongoing participation on the global stage reflects our resilience and the valuable contributions we make toward creating a better world,” he stated. Additionally, Rabuka attended a service at the Centenary Church with other Pacific Island Leaders, where they sought guidance and unity as they confront the challenges and opportunities facing their region.
