Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka engaged in bilateral discussions with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres prior to the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Meeting in Nuku’alofa, Tonga. During their meeting, Rabuka emphasized Fiji’s strong commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, which the country has upheld since becoming a member in 1970. He reiterated Fiji’s belief in the power of multilateralism as a vital tool for addressing global issues. “Our continued engagement on the world stage is a testament to our resilience and the significant contributions we make to shaping a better world,” Rabuka stated. Additionally, he joined fellow Pacific Island leaders at the Centenary Church for a service aimed at seeking guidance and unity as they confront both challenges and opportunities in the region.
