Ahead of the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum Meeting, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka met with United Nations Secretary General António Guterres today.
During their conversation, Prime Minister Rabuka highlighted Fiji’s long-standing commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, which the country has upheld since joining the UN in 1970.
He stated, “We appreciate the crucial role the UN plays in preserving multilateralism as our joint approach to confronting global issues.”
Rabuka noted that Fiji has much to contribute to global improvement, underscoring that the country’s ongoing engagement in international affairs reflects its strength.
Earlier in the day, Rabuka, alongside other Pacific Island leaders, attended a worship service at the Centenary church in Nuku’alofa, Tonga.
