Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka engaged in bilateral discussions with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres ahead of the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Meeting in Nuku’alofa, Tonga. During their meeting, Rabuka emphasized Fiji’s strong commitment to the principles of the UN Charter since its accession to the organization in 1970. He reiterated Fiji’s belief in multilateralism as a crucial strength in addressing global issues.

“Our ongoing participation on the international stage reflects our resilience and the vital role we play in creating a better world,” Rabuka stated. Additionally, he attended a service at Centenary Church with other Pacific Island leaders, where they sought guidance and unity to tackle the challenges and opportunities facing their region.
