Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, who leads the People’s Alliance party, has reaffirmed his coalition’s strength by stating he continues to enjoy substantial support from his allies, the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) and the National Federation Party (NFP). This assertion follows the recent swearing-in of three new Ministers and three new Assistant Ministers, confirmed to have occurred with the prior approval of these coalition partners.

During a media briefing, Rabuka expressed his confidence in the coalition’s unity, which was echoed by SODELPA General Secretary Viliame Takayawa. He confirmed that the coalition remains solid and united, although he chose not to elaborate further. Similarly, the NFP has reiterated its backing of the coalition government, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among the political parties.

The commitment to coalition strength is particularly significant as Fiji faces key issues that require a collaborative approach. Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica and other cabinet figures have publicly expressed their continued support for Rabuka, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining strong relationships to effectively tackle the challenges confronting the country.

In the coming days, Prime Minister Rabuka is planning a visit to New Zealand to engage in discussions with the Prime Minister there and take part in the Fiji Day celebrations. He will subsequently attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa. These upcoming events illustrate the coalition’s dedication to forging a prosperous future for Fiji, particularly for its youth.

In summary, the coalition displays significant resilience and solidarity as it commits to addressing pressing national issues. With a focus on unity and proactive governance, there is a hopeful outlook for the future of Fiji under this administration.
