Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, leader of the People’s Alliance, has reaffirmed his strong support from coalition partners, the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) and the National Federation Party (NFP), following the recent swearing-in of three new Ministers and three new Assistant Ministers. Rabuka confirmed that he secured the necessary approvals from both parties prior to the swearing-in, demonstrating a spirit of collaboration within the coalition.

Viliame Takayawa, SODELPA’s General Secretary, echoed Rabuka’s sentiments, stating that the coalition remains solid and intact despite not providing further comments. The NFP also reiterated its steadfast support for the coalition government, highlighting the importance of teamwork among political entities in addressing the nation’s challenges.

This reaffirmation of coalition strength comes at a critical time as leaders are determined to face significant issues affecting Fiji. Previous remarks from Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica and other ministers emphasized their commitment to Rabuka and the coalition’s objectives, showcasing a unified front in governance.

Looking ahead, Prime Minister Rabuka is scheduled to visit New Zealand to engage with the Prime Minister and participate in Fiji Day celebrations. He is also set to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa. These engagements underscore the coalition’s ambition to cultivate a prosperous future for the Fijian people, particularly the youth.

The current situation reveals a resilient coalition, with government leaders expressing optimism about their collective efforts. This proactive approach signals hope for a stable and thriving future as they work together to tackle pressing national issues.
