Jai Narayan College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Primary School emerged victorious at the 2024 Vodafone Fiji National Schools Chess Championship.
Jai Narayan College secured the secondary school title with a total of 14 points, led by Women’s Candidate Master Tanvi Prasad. Meanwhile, MGM topped the primary school division with 10 points.
Goru Arvind, General Secretary of the Fiji Chess Federation, expressed appreciation to Vodafone Fiji for resurrecting the championship after a five-year break.
Marist Brothers High School ranked second in the secondary division with 11 points, while Deenbandhoo Memorial School claimed the second spot in the primary division with 5 points.
The championship saw participation from 12 school teams in total.
