Fiji’s Captain Sets Sights on Victory in Pacific Nations Cup Final

FIJI Water Flying Fijians captain Tevita Ikanivere is feeling focused and confident as his team prepares for the highly anticipated Pacific Nations Cup final against Japan tonight. Ikanivere expressed that the players are in a positive mindset.

“The boys are feeling confident going into tonight’s game. We have the assurance that we’ve put in the work throughout the week,” Ikanivere stated. “We focused on clarity during our two training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday in Osaka, and we look forward to facing Japan.”

When it comes to handling pressure, Ikanivere recognized its presence but views it as a motivating factor. “There’s always pressure. It’s a good thing. I look forward to leading the team out and aiming for the win,” he added.

Ikanivere also expressed gratitude towards the team’s sponsors and supporters. “First of all, we want to thank our sponsors FIJI Water and Fiji Airways for enabling us to do what we love.”

He encouraged fans in Japan to come out in large numbers to support the team. The final match is set to kick off at 10:05 PM.
