Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka recently delivered an inspiring address during the 2025 Bose Vakayabaki of the Suva Methodist Church Division, emphasizing the themes of unity, faith, and moral leadership in Fiji. Speaking in the iTaukei language, he highlighted the church’s significant role in shaping a resilient and ethically responsible society.
Rabuka called on Fijians to embody discipline, service, and respect for one another, addressing the urgent societal issues such as domestic violence and drug abuse. He urged the church to maintain its leadership in advocating for the protection of vulnerable groups, including women, girls, and the elderly. This plea aligns with his prior statements, where he expressed deep concerns over similar social challenges during different public addresses, including significant church services like Easter.
The Prime Minister also underscored the importance of collaboration among the church and various institutions to enhance youth development and promote national wellbeing. Concluding his address, he reminded leaders in all sectors—government, military, and community—to embody the principles discussed at the Bose Vakayabaki in their everyday lives.
Rabuka’s consistent advocacy for unity reflects a hopeful vision for Fiji. It suggests that through collective effort, compassion, and moral commitment, the nation can overcome its societal trials and foster a supportive community. His messages resonate with the broader theme of finding strength in unity, aiming to build a brighter future for all Fijians, despite the challenges they face.
