The Fijian Cabinet has sanctioned a second round of fund redeployment within the 2023-2024 Budget to mitigate excess spending by the Ministry of Education and the Fiji Police Force.

A total of FJ$7.94 million will be redistributed from current budget allocations to address these financial gaps.

This action follows a previous fund redirection in July, when FJ$105.19 million was allocated to meet increased expenditure demands across several government departments and initiatives.

The reallocations are executed in accordance with the Financial Management Act, ensuring the government adheres to its fiscal policies while managing unexpected costs for these vital sectors.

This financial maneuver underscores the government’s commitment to efficient budget management while continuing to provide essential services.
